I’m Matt.

I’m a Design Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University's
Software Engineering Institute.

I study responsible AI, user trust, and the future of work.

Whether I’m conducting remote usability studies, observing users in a lab, or interviewing people in their homes, my goal is always the same. I want to understand users’ lived experiences, problems, and needs from the ground-up.

My Work

Case Studies

As a team member and leader, I bridge the gap between users, designers, product managers, and engineers to build empathy, inform strategy, and identify opportunities for innovation.

Employer Benefits

In addition to creating simple, effective, and ethnical socio-technical systems , I’m dedicated to making the workplace a better, more enjoyable place. Here are some of employer benefits that I bring to the table:

I’m a first-generation college graduate.

In my spare time, I make memes and fake movie posters.

I also like to collect plants, tattoos, and weird things from thrift stores.
